For the past two and a half years, Josekutty has been undergoing dialysis three times a week at Providence Hospital in Alappuzha. This treatment is essential for his survival but has placed a tremendous financial strain on his family. His wife was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago, and though she has undergone surgery and treatment, the medical expenses have left them struggling to manage even their basic needs.
They have two children who are deeply affected by their situation. Their elder son works in an electronic shop but cannot attend work regularly due to his responsibility to help care for his parents. Their younger daughter is currently a Plus Two student.
The mounting medical expenses, combined with the cost of daily living and their children’s needs, have left them in a precarious position.
