Over the past weeks, we have witnessed a rapid resurgence of COVID-19 across several parts of the world. As the biggest humanitarian crisis of modern times unfolds, devastating spike in India has overwhelmed the country’s healthcare system. Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted by the pandemic.
XMEC Social Assist (XSA – a venture by alumni of Model Engineering College, Ernakulam) is partnering with Compassionate Hearts Network (CHN) in aiding the much-needed support dealing with COVID-19. Please join the humanitarian efforts to strengthen the healthcare system in India and the immediate cause for action to overcome the crisis.
Projects under consideration proposed by XSA members:
1. ESIC Hospital: Set up Central Gas Manifold System at the ESIC Hospital Udyogmandal, Ernakulam, Kerala, in association with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). The proposed program will support the Government Health system in meeting current and future oxygen supply needs. Project execution within 4-5 days, Expected expenses: INR 15,00,000 / USD 24,000
2. PPE Kit, Oxygen Concentrator and Oxymeter: Distribution of essential medical items across Kerala and Bangalore. Priority – High. Expected expenses: INR 4,00,000 / USD 6,500 (4-5 engagements, each raging INR 80-100K each)
3. Cooperative Hospital: A ventilator unit at the Thrikkakara Municipal Cooperative Hospital. The Cooperative Hospital caters to the needs of underprivileged communities. Expected expenses: INR 6,00,000 / USD 9,500.
The combined cost of all three program is roughly INR 25,00,000 / USD 40,000 and we plan to raise the funds before May-31, 2021. It is our firm belief that these programs are a direct reflection of values and by supporting the cause, we will improve the psychological, spiritual and emotional well-being of our community.
