Dear Friends,
This is a fundraising request for a house construction and treatment support for Joshy Andrews – 47 years from Edivanna, Nilambur. He has been paralyzed from the neck down for the past 16 years due to an unfortunate accident when he was 31 years old. He belongs to a lower middle-class family; his mother is a cancer patient undergoing treatment and they don’t have a steady income.
The family survives with the help of his aged father who does local labor work. The elder brother leases land and cultivates it on a small scale but earns a very small income from it due to wildlife disturbances and unfavorable weather conditions. The earnings of these two are not enough to treat the mother and son. The mother is now seriously ill. The past 16 years of treatments and hospital costs have drained everything this family had.
For so long, the family has survived only with the help of locals and expatriate friends. However, the floods and COVID limited the financial support. The current house they are living in has a bad leak and is in irreparable condition. With the help of some friends and well-wishers, they were able to buy a small plot of land and begin house construction. They have just enough money to complete the foundation work. He is looking for help from well-wishers to complete the house’s construction and get support for the ongoing treatment for him and his mother.
