Fr. Leo Payyapilly, a member of Franciscan Conventual Friars from India, is urgently seeking well-wishers support for a kidney transplant surgery. It is being scheduled at the Medical Trust Hospital Cochin, Kerala, India.
Fr. Leo has been working on missionary activities across the world for the past several years. After his services in Louisville, USA, he returned to India as a Minister Provincial. Doctors suggested a thorough checkup when he started showing severe health problems recently. Diagnostics tests revealed that both of his kidneys are severely damaged. Even though dialysis has started, he is not showing remarkable improvements in his condition. Doctors have now recommended immediate kidney transplantation before his condition worsens. Two of the Friar priests are willing to be kidney donors. The surgery and immediate hospital care require at least USD 15000 that he does not have.
