Recently, Kerala, one of beautiful states of India known as “God’s Own Country”, has been devastated by the worst flood in its known history. Over 300 people and counting have died, and more than 200,000 families have been rescued by boat and helicopter from their flooded homes. Damage to roads, bridges and buildings from heavy floods and landslides is estimated at nearly $3B. Thousands of families sheltered in relief camps who are in desperate need of food, potable water, medical supplies, and financial help.
This disaster has left a mammoth task of rebuilding, repairing, and rehabilitation in its wake. At relief camps, there is fear of communicable disease outbreaks among the thousands of people crammed for shelter. To prevent the spread of waterborne illnesses, people need to be relocated to their houses as soon as possible. If we join hands and contribute generously, we can aid recovery from this natural disaster at a grassroots level with virtually NO overhead cost.
100% of your donations will be used to rebuild and revive Kerala. The majority of the money will be allocated to clean up and construction projects, and a portion of the money will be used to continue supplying food, clothes, and medicine. All money will be well spent, with details transparent on our website. Compassionate Heart Network (CHN) is a 501(c)3 non-profit. All donations are exempt from US Federal Income Tax.
